Ted Williams, the homeless Ohio man with the golden voice, was arrested by Los Angeles police on Monday night. The YouTube sensation who has appeared on the TODAY Show, Dr. Phil, Entertainment Tonight and became an instant Internet celebrity was detained after a reported argument with his daughter at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa.
ABC reports that the situation was "minor" and the father and daughter were "angry" but there were no signs of visible abuse. Los Angeles police Officer Catherine Massey told ABC on Tuesday that Williams and his daughter were"brought in, calmed down, talked to and released."
Williams came into the spotlight after a video featuring his 'Golden Voice' was released by the Columbus Dispatch. Job offers from the NFL Network, Oprah and the Cleveland Cavaliers streamed in for the man who was homeless and begging for money. Williams also had a drug and alcohol addiction that he successfully fought over the past two years.
Ted Williams was reportedly in Los Angeles for a number of television appearances as well as a visit with the Los Angeles Laker's, including Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest. No charges have been file and reports indicate that Williams was not arrested in LA, just detained.
